It worked!

We were only gone three days and half of two of those days were spent driving, but it worked! I feel refueled and like I might actually survive these summer days at home with my children. A feat that seemed rather unlikely last week. It wasn't perfect. At least 16 hours were spent driving in the car. With a DVD player that was not working. We managed to watch the first hour of four or five movies. While we were there though, things went pretty well. Mt. Rushmore was...well it was a large rock with four heads carved into it. I'm not saying that it wasn't worth seeing, it is, but we had seen it before and it hasn't changed in the last three years. The day we were there the weather was nice and we enjoyed walking the .5 miles around the presidential trail. We also visited the Reptile Gardens. It was really cool and we had a good time. The highlight of the trip was the indoor water park in our hotel. We spent lots and lots of hours there and had lots and lots of fun. It was just what I needed.
