Wednesday, August 17th 2011 highlights

4 women and 3 hours at Sam's Club= 4 huge shopping carts, containing 24 loafs of bread, 12 cases of soda, 10 bags of chips, 4 giant jars of peanut butter, 4 jars of jelly, 7lbs of shredded cheese and 700 million boxes of snacks, including three 56 oz bags of M&Ms, and now we are almost done shopping for Lake Powell. Don't worry we also bought some real food. We will be eating pulled pork, steak, chicken kabobs, hamburgers, hot dogs, lasagna, hawaiian haystacks and burritos. Clearly, when I am not eating I will need to be swimming to work off everything that I'm eating. After waiting 30 minutes to avoid cramping of course.

Nate joined the cross country team at his middle school. Yesterday was his first practice. He called me at Sam's Club when he got home. The conversation went something like this. "uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh pain aaaahhhhhhhh can't walk uuuuhhhhhhhh so sore ahhhhhhhhhhhhh going to die." Practice is for 2 hours everyday after school and his first meet is next Thursday. I'm hope the initial shock to his system has worn off by then. I'm proud of him for want to do it!

We had a water leak in our sprinkler system. Once we noticed it, Sam shut the sprinklers off until we could get it fixed. Then we got a water bill for July that was over $300 and we were not happy. We payed $430 to get the leak fixed and contacted someone from the town water department to see if we could get our last bill reduced since we got the leak fixed. Once you use more than a set amount of water during the month you start to get charged at a higher rate. We wanted to see if we could have the whole month charged at the regular rate since we didn't know about the leak at first and we payed $430 to get it fixed. The lady from the town emailed Sam back to let us know,

"The August billing statement showing the 89,000 gallons will bill for $1,060.26 (ouch, sorry). "

89,000 gallons of water

$1,060.26

I cried.

So it looks like they are going to work with us a little on the amount and do some sort of payment plan, but holy crap!

Yesterday I also got a cavity filled, my first in over 15 years. My fingers went to sleep because I was so tense and clinching my hands together. And Sam and I also took the 4 older kids for their well checks, McKay had his on Tuesday. They are all healthy and happy and smart and growing like weeds.

Wow it was a busy day! To finish it all off I went to a 9:20 showing of "The Help" and made it home at about 1:00 am. Some how I was up at 6:30 this morning and made everyone fried egg sandwiches for breakfast. Then just after 8 when everyone was off to work and school I turned on cartoons in my room for McKay and I crashed until noon!

I'm almost ready to take on this afternoon which consists of a Back to School BBQ, homework, dinner, Scouts, and a 5 mile run.

There is the sign that I have completely lost it... I don't even know what day of the week it is anymore. :(
