Friday Confessional

Photobucket

Today I'm joining a linky party over at Dandelion Wishes. It's called Friday Confessional and I have something to Confess.

I Confess...

Years ago I spent a lot of money on some super awesome dishes to use for special occasions. When I first got them I had a hutch to display them in, but then we got a piano and there was no room for the hutch, so the dishes went in the cupboard to be unused and unseen. What a waste! Sad, right.

Not anymore! The mismatched, old, plastic dishes that we use on a daily basis are going bye bye, because today is a special occasion. Why? Because I'm alive, and I have an amazing family and that makes everyday a special occasion. So the pretty dishes have been moved to the everyday cupboard to be used, that's right, everyday!

I confess...

I'm a little worried about my kids breaking my pretty dishes but as you can see by the 5 missing bowls, they uses them for breakfast without supervision and so far, so good.

ps-See the cute mugs and santa cookie jar on the top shelf. They were Christmas gifts from the Carters, and of course the cookie jar was jammed full of amazing cookies and treats!

My cupboards never look that organized, they're a bit more cluttered.
Those dishes are very nice. Good for you to use them.

I love it, Natalie!
And if a few get dropped, chipped or broken so what?! I mean, yeah of course that would be sad, but there's not much difference in the dish getting thrown away because it was broken, than the dish being hidden away in a cabinet never to be seen or used. At least this way someone is enjoying them. Just treat yourself to a few new ones every 5 years to replace the broken ones. Oh...and they place where my ceramic dishes get chipped most often is the sink, when my girls drop them in, so just give everyone a reminder that they have to set their dishes down gently, or they'll crack.

Happy pretty dish day.

Loverly....please come and visit me and help me organize my cupboards. I have been going to take everything out and give it to good will that I don't use. Maybe now I will have the courage to do it......xo
