Who's ran 100.7 miles this year? It's totally me!! Who deserves a trip to Copper Falls Spa for a massage and pedi? Also, totally me!
I missed my first race of the year, the St. Patty's Day 5K. I know, sad :(. This race is the first race Heather and I did last year. The first race of my "I'm a runner" era, so I was really looking forward to running it again and seeing how much I've improved. Plus today was sunny and like 60 degrees compared to last year's race which was snowing and 17 degrees! It was a great day for a race. But I missed it for a good cause. Nate was testing for his yellow belt in Taekwando. Which he rocked by the way! I'm so proud of him!! And even though I missed my race I got to go run Mitchell Creek Canyon with Bryce. It's a difficult 7 mile round trip trail, lots of ups and downs and jumping across rocks and the wind doesn't help, but it goes by much faster than the boring old treadmill.
So, my awesome run plus taking a nap the last two days plus going out with Heather tonight plus already deciding that we are skipping church tomorrow have all helped me to survive Sam's absents the last 4 days. He has been in Vegas watching the college b-ball tournaments, and I have been here losing my mind! I adore my kids, and was really looking forward to them have a three day school week last week so we could do some fun things together, and we have, yesterday we climbed the rock and the weather has been so nice we've spent a lot of time playing out side. But over all they have been out of their minds, crazy. Oy and the fighting and the arguing. Seriously if I have to hear this conversation one more time someone is not going to live through it.
"yes you did"
"no I didn't"
"yes you did"
"no I didn't"
"yes you did"
"no I didn't"
"yes you did"
"no I didn't"
"yes you did"
"no I didn't"
Or any other variation of it. "yes he is", "no he isn't" or "yes they are", "no they aren't". Oh my gosh. I tell ya, It's killin me. Any way, this started out as a positive post about my 100 miles and I'm not sure how it turned in to a rant about my crazies. The point is, I'm so verry, verry glad that my dear, wonderful, awesome, husband is coming home tonight and so glad that we are sleeping in tomorrow, which by the way is Abby's 9th birthday! So, that's all I've got for now cuz I'm going to dinner and a movie with Heather, yay us!!
