This is the view of Table Mountain from our restaurant. It is absolutely gorgeous here. Later in the day we took a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. Notice the cloud above the mountain. The rest of the sky was clear blue and mostly cloudless except for this giant cloud that sat on top of Table Mountain all day. As it got lower and rolled over the side of the mountain they call it the "Table cloth"
There is a very Mediterranean feel here. Not that I've been to the Mediterranean, but from what I have seen in pictures and movies this seems very similar. Below is a view of the city from the top of Table Mountain.
The water is gorgeous, but cold, I hear. I'm sure we will get in it at some point.
This is such an interesting country with so much history. I can't wait to learn more about it.
Just a few fun things I learned today- To honk your horn is called hooting. Traffic lights are called robots. Speed bumps are traffic calmers. They are busy preparing for the world cup, to be held here in 2010. There money is the Rand and R100=about $14
