Today is the last day of school and Nate's last day of Elementary school ever! He has been at RRE for 7 years, yet somehow it was only yesterday that I took him to his first day of Kindergarten. He is so excited to be done and I am excited for him to move on and have new experiences in middle school.
We left school today with mixed emotions. The kids really like school and have had phenomenal teachers that we will miss not seeing everyday, but I for one am ready to sleep in tomorrow, and the next day and the next day.

can I just point out that your yellow dress is fabulous? Take off that dang jacket and let us see the rest of it! Super cute!
Good luck entertaining the kids. And seriously...chores. One summer, my mom made a ridiculously detailed list of jobs that needed to be done from bathroom floors to baseboards, to dusting ceiling fans, to weeding the yard. next to each chore (there was a fat list that was several pages long) there was a number written...as in "this job is worth 3 skittles (toilets)" or "this job is worth 7 skittles (wipe out fridge)" to 15 skittles (clean out the van). There were a lot of 1 skittle jobs, too, that could be done in 2 minutes, like unloading the dishwasher, making beds, throwing all the yard toys into a storage bin, parking the bikes, widing up the hose, and emptying the bathroom trash cans, etc. Each kid does as many jobs as they can in 1 hour (or how ever long they'd like, but you "check work" and distribute earned candy only once per hour. It was a good system, kept us busy, and a lot of crap got done without my mom having to nag. Another summer we were assigned an amount of time (20-30 min for younger kids, 2 hrs for high school kids) that we had to "go to work" at home before we could play every day on week days. I hated that 1 hr of work when I was older, but as a kid, I could get it done quickly and then go outside and play.
that was long. sorry. Your dress really is super cute. Does an extra compliment make up for my obnoxious long comment?
thank you for the compliment. the dress has speghetti straps so with the "G"s it's a little ackward with out the jacket. so sorry but the top of it is really cute. anyhow, i do need to come up with a good summer survival plan. and i have plenty of work to get done that would be worth lots of skittles. i'll have to think about that.
He is such a good lookin kid Nat!! Can't believe you're going to have a middle schooler!
