Lake Powell

We had another amazing week at Lake Powell! We were actually there for 9 days, but with the first day being for unpacking and the last day being for packing back up, really it was 7 days of fun in the sun, boating, tubing, swimming, hiking, playing games, and of course lots of relaxing.
I have lots of bruises to show for all of the fun tubing and knee boarding we did. Yes, I finally figured out how to get up on the knee board and it rocked! I was a little jealous of those who had never tried it before and got up the first time they tried (Heather!), but I'm still proud of my small victory!
Then there was the extreme tubing which was just as fun to watch as it was to ride.

We had an amazing time with our friends, and this year some of my family was there, and we had an amazing time with them also. There is just something about being at the lake together for a whole week that bonds you in a way that not many experiences do. Maybe it's listening to each other snore as we all sleep on the roof or maybe its peeing together in the lake. I don't know, but we defiantly bonded.

Lake Powell has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. I especially love falling to sleep under the stars and waking up with the sun reaching over the cliffs that surround us on every side. There is so many awesome places to explore. The top left and bottom right pictures below are of The Cathedral. It was gorgeous. We also hiked up to Hole in the Rock, a pathway that early Mormon pioneers made through one of the canyon walls.

Here are some fun pictures of the kids (old and young) playing off of the back of the house boat. The top left picture cracks me up. It looks like Nate and Ryland were cut and pasted into the picture, but I assure you it was not doctored in any way.

Other than the killer ear infection that I brought home with me from all of the lake/pee water and the ticket we got from the lake police for having 18 people on the speed boat that has a max capacity of 10, we had a pretty much perfect trip.
